Within Alloa Academy, the Expressive Arts Faculty have the following subject/curricular areas of Art and Design, Music, Music Technology, and Drama. We as a Faculty strive for the best learning and teaching and to have ‘creativity’ at the heart of what we do through the S1 – S3 curriculum within the Broad General Education (BGE) and indeed through to the Senior Phase (S4-S6).

The Creative and Aesthetic Subjects aim to embrace the Vision and Values of Alloa Academy through the following:

• We aim to respect all learners to the highest degree and to ensure that we can meet their needs in a way which is supportive and always challenging in a ‘creative sense’.
• It is our intention for each learner to undertake activities which promote fun, acquiring or enhancing new skills, and ultimately thinking about how ‘creativity’ is so important in their daily lives.
• We would like the learning and teaching experiences to make all learners think about how Art and Design, Music, Music Technology, or Drama can actively ignite imagination and creativity in an exciting way (curricular and extracurricular activities).
• As the Expressive Arts Faculty, through living our school values of ambition, respect, and resilience we can demonstrate to all learners how to see themselves without limits or preconceptions and achieve their goals.
• We aim to create an inclusive environment where all learners are welcome, valued and supported.
• We strive to encourage every learner to achieve their potential, ensuring they gain confidence in their abilities, instilling resilience every step of the way.
