As part of Clackmannanshire Family Wellbeing Partnership, our Community Around the School Approach provides a range of person-centred activities and programmes. Each develops personal wellbeing and capabilities as well as opening the doors of Alloa Academy to the wider community.

Community Around the School and the Family Wellbeing Partnership is about a different way of working. It’s about creating opportunities for people to live lives that they value. We all want our young people to flourish; to be successful learners and thrive both during and after school; to have fun and actively participate in their local and wider communities. At Alloa Academy we’re supporting this by deliberately involving a range of partners, supports and opportunities for our whole community, based on what they tell us is important to them.

So far, we’ve drawn over thirty partners and programmes around Alloa Academy. These include university projects, NHS workshops, local work experience and art collaborations. Several groups have enjoyed Columba 1400 Values Based Leadership experiences, and these are great opportunities for young people and staff to reflect on their values and what’s important to them as well as discussing what they need to flourish and what they want for their community. To make sure there’s something for everyone, our school staff work closely with colleagues across Clackmannanshire and beyond.
