In the BGE, learners embark on an exploration of the language and the culture. They engage with real-life scenarios covering themes such as family, world events, sports, and travel, all while exploring into the traditions, festivals, and histories of the countries where these languages are spoken. This approach not only enhances language skills but also cultivates a global perspective.

As learners progress into the Senior Phase, they have the opportunity to specialise in their chosen language. The courses assess pupils through a combination of reading, writing, listening, and speaking components, including a performance and a writing assignment.
